Clem was called to the Bar in November 2015. He previously practiced as a solicitor with Alexander Law, Caboolture. 

Prior to that he worked as a teacher at Bribie Island State High School for four years. He was a member of the NSW Police Force for fourteen years including two years as an accident investigator, eight years as a police prosecutor, and one year assisting the NSW State Coroner . He has also worked in a number of government departments at both State and Commonwealth level as a fraud investigator, and conducted investigations into disciplinary matters.     

His areas of practice include criminal, family, administrative, personal injury, equity and trusts, commercial, and coronial inquests and other inquiries. He was also recently appointed to the Commonwealth DPP External Junior Counsel Panel.   

He has a keen interest to see schools adopt programs to teach their students in how to identify and maintain healthy relationships in order to prevent family breakdown and violence. He is a volunteer lawyer with the Suncoast Community Legal Centre, and the Moreton Bay Community Legal Centre where he set up the Woodford Outreach Centre.
