This CPD popular evening will provide presentations on issues concerning elder law. Our speaker Penny Feil, mediator and Tribunal Member will cover the following legal topics:
- Steps to take when a client is a potential victim of elder abuse (e.g. QCAT applications or reporting to the Public Guardian);
- Steps in a QCAT Hearing;
- Amendments to the Powers of Attorney Act
- The new enduring power of attorney and advance health directive forms. The forms have been developed as part of the guardianship reforms commencing on 30 November 2020.
- Understanding capacity when executing an EPA; and
- Case examples
The evening will be chaired by the Committee.
